The starting point for Clatworthy's enduring interest in this subject was quite simply a bulll in the field next to the artist's studio in Sussex. The Tate Gallery holds two works of the same title from 1956 and a lifesize plaster was exhibited in Holland Park in 1957 for London County Council.
