The Artist's Studio
Throughout the 1950's and 60', Vera Spencer exhibited in Paris, Brussels and London, oil paintings, watercolours and collages. A review in 1964 described her work as 'the perfection of abstraction', In fact she perfected the art of producing a calculated and almost intoxicating effect with combinations of pure colour and precise placing of lines and rectangular shapes creating weightless shapes and oblongs which appear to float over the surface.
